Cover Supervisor – Solihull

Have you got experience of delivering lessons to groups or classes? Are you currently working as a cover supervisor or interested in this type of work? If so, we would like to speak to you about an exciting opportunity of work in Solihull Secondary schools.

Zest Education work with a range of secondary schools in the Solihull area. If you haven’t worked as cover supervisor before but have experience of delivering lessons to groups or whole classes and would benefit from the flexibility that cover supervision can provide, then this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

This role is on a part time basis, working 2-4 days of your choice, starting in September 2022.

A day-to-day as a cover supervisor will include:

• Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
• Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
• Responding to any questions from pupils about processes and procedures
• Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
• Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
• Reporting back on the behaviour of pupils during the class, using the school’s agreed referral procedures

A successful applicant will have:

• Very good numeracy/literacy skills
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents/carers, and professionals
• Can use ICT to support and enhance teaching and learning
• A passionate commitment to raising the attainment of all students
• A team player who can work collaboratively with others

To be considered you will have a minimum of 20 days experience working with children/young people.
