KS2 Teaching assistant, Erdington.

Zest Education is exclusively working with a school in the north of Erdington. The school are looking for a KS2 teaching assistant to work 5 days a week with small groups of children. The position starts in September 2022 and will run for the whole academic year.

The school is rapidly improving under a new Headship and senior management. The school has secured some funding which it is currently improving their facilities with and bolstering the staff ranks. The school has close ties with the locals and is a popular choice with the locals but with this extra funding, it is quickly becoming one of the best schools in the catchment area. The funding has given the school the opportunity to invest in support staff to enrich the pupils’ daily routines and provide extra support in small groups.

The successful candidate will be working in small groups across KS2 so it needs to be somebody who can adapt on their feet and fit into any situation with a broad and in-depth understanding of the national curriculum. An ideal trait would be somebody with strong behaviour management skills or somebody who wants a challenge, some pupils at this school can be lively but behaviour is improving. The candidate needs to be confident and able to communicate the curriculum into actionable lessons for the varying academic abilities.

Newly qualified teaching assistants and experienced teaching assistants will be considered for this role however it would be at an advantage if applicants had specific experience in KS2. The successful candidate will be given support to ensure a smooth transition into this new role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
