Design Technology Teacher – January 2025

Job Description

Zest is seeking a full-time Design Technology teacher to start in January 2025 (or earlier if possible) for a school in the Bournville area. Ideally the school would like a creative and dynamic teacher to join their art department who aims to build positive relationships with students and staff and is passionate about improving the learning outcomes for all students. Subject knowledge up to KS4 is essential with knowledge at KS5 being advantageous. Additionally, the school offers fantastic facilities within a strong art department.

Not only does the school have a great reputation in the local community, but the successful applicant would also be joining a supportive leadership structure that focuses on the ethos of building a community for the future, with students being taught vital skills for later in life. The school site is easily accessible via public transport and there is plenty of on-site parking.

Key responsibilities:
– Plan and teach engaging lessons that motivate the students in your subject and cater to the needs of diverse learners
– Mark and assess students work and track student progression
– Have excellent curriculum knowledge that continues to develop – particularly the new and engaging ways to teach Design Technology
– Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Requirements:
– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level
– Strong subject knowledge and a creative approach to teaching
– Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that cater to students of varying abilities
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Commitment to the academic and personal development of students
