Office Manager

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a primary school we closely work with in Walsall for the role of School Officer Manager. You will be responsible for the daily smooth running of the busy school office. We are seeking a highly efficient and well organised person to manage the office to provide day-to-day support to staff, parents and pupils. We are looking for someone who can use their own initiative, is accurate, works well under pressure, is flexible and has excellent communication skills.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and adaptable administrator to join our supportive school team.

The main duties will involve having to think on their feet and use their own initiative in a busy environment. There are daily, weekly, termly and annual routines with which to adhere, we require a proactive, highly organised and committed individual, capable of organising administrative activities.

There will be a number of admin tasks that need to be completed each day which include: registers, attendance, dinner numbers, emails, letters and the general organisation in a primary office. As well as being the first point of contact for parents, visitors and members of staff.

• Day-to-day management of the school office

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential as you will be required to produce documents and letters.

• Creating the Schools Census.

• Maintaining the School’s Single Central File, processing any DBS checks online

• Line Management of other office staff members

• Some knowledge of working on FMS (Financial Management System) is essential, processing orders, invoices, reports etc.

You will:

• Be numerate and literate;

• Have recent experience of carrying out a range of administrative procedures within a school office environment;

• Have experience of clerical financial processing, preferably in a school environment;

• Be able to operate efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision in order to provide an outstanding level of service to staff, parents and visitors.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
