Biology Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our team. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that engages and excites students, ensuring they achieve the highest outcomes in biology. Working under the direction of the Lead for Science and Vice Principal, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, developing schemes of work, and implementing effective teaching strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Delivering outstanding teaching in biology to students from Years 10 to 13
– Collaborating with the science department to enhance the curriculum and incorporate employer commissions
– Engaging with employers to develop students’ employability skills and work-related learning experiences
– Maintaining a safe and purposeful learning environment
– Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching methods to meet their varying needs
– Incorporating literacy, numeracy, ICT, and critical thinking skills into lessons
– Keeping abreast of curriculum developments and updating lesson plans accordingly
– Participating in enrichment activities and extracurricular programs
– Upholding high professional standards and promoting positive values and attitudes among students
– Attending meetings, contributing to the department’s development plan, and participating in recruitment events

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Degree in Biology or related field
– Proven experience in teaching biology at secondary level
– Strong knowledge of curriculum development and pedagogical strategies
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
– Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
