Job Description

Zest Education is working closely with a small and welcoming primary school in Derby, who are looking to recruit a passionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a rewarding role with the potential to become permanent.

The Role:

This full-time position will involve providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as assisting with group interventions across the classroom. The ideal candidate will be confident supporting pupils with additional needs and committed to helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a KS2 pupil on a 1:1 basis with tailored learning strategies

  • Assisting in the delivery of small group activities

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

About You:

  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils is essential

  • A calm, patient and caring approach

  • Able to use initiative and adapt to the needs of the child

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 TA) is desirable but not essential
