We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Leicester. You will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to support students with a range of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional/behavioural challenges.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
Implement EHCP targets and differentiated learning strategies
Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
Use a range of communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual schedules)
Support with personal care where necessary
Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
Previous experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (desirable)
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
