SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Leicester. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator looking to make a real difference.

This is a full-time, long-term position based in a welcoming primary school in Leicester, with an immediate start. You will be responsible for leading a Year 5 class, delivering high-quality teaching in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. The role will involve taking full classroom responsibility during normal school hours, with the potential for the position to be extended or made permanent for the right candidate.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment

  • Manage behaviour effectively and support pupil progress

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

  • Take on full classroom responsibilities, including assessments and reporting

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to high-quality teaching

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
