Job Description

Zest Education is proud to be working with a well-established SEN school in Derby, seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs.

The school supports children and young people with a wide range of needs including autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will be creative, adaptable, and passionate about inclusive education.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualised lessons to small groups or 1:1.

  • Adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs and EHCP targets.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants and external professionals.

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

About You:

  • QTS or QTLS is essential.

  • Previous experience in an SEN or inclusive setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong behaviour management and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, calm, and positive teaching approach.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one via Zest). What We Offer:

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
