Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a vibrant and nurturing primary school in Stoke-on-Trent, who are seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support their Reception class from September 2025.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a child-led, play-based learning environment and wants to make a lasting impact during the formative years of a child’s education.
The school is a well-established, community-focused primary that prides itself on its inclusive and supportive ethos. It offers a stimulating Early Years setting with well-resourced indoor and outdoor learning areas, where children are encouraged to explore, question, and develop at their own pace.
With a warm and collaborative staff team, the school values every member of the community and places strong emphasis on wellbeing, creativity, and early development.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting young learners in Reception or Nursery, helping to create a safe, happy, and engaging environment where children feel confident and excited to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver activities in line with the EYFS framework
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help children meet developmental milestones
Assist with planning, preparation, and organisation of creative, play-based learning activities
Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to learning journals and observations
Support children’s personal care and daily routines, including snack time and transitions
Promote social skills, independence, and emotional wellbeing in the classroom
Help maintain a tidy, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children in an EYFS or nursery setting
Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years/Education
Understands the EYFS statutory framework and child development principles
Is patient, nurturing, and confident in supporting young children’s emotional and social needs
Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills
Has a positive, proactive attitude and is willing to contribute to all aspects of school life
A personal consultant who supports you throughout the process
Opportunities to work in reputable schools across Stoke and surrounding areas
Competitive pay, paid weekly
Honest, friendly advice and guidance from education professionals
