Zest Education is currently working closely with a nurturing and community-focused primary school in Stoke-on-Trent that is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s education, whether you are experienced or looking to gain more hands-on school experience.
This is a long-term, part-time role with flexible working hours (mornings or afternoons), making it a great opportunity for those seeking a better work-life balance or who have other commitments during the day.
As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 depending on your experience and school needs.
Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs (SEN) and small group interventions.
Help with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Support pupils in achieving their learning goals through targeted interventions in reading, writing, and numeracy.
Promote positive behaviour and ensure the well-being and safety of all pupils.
Offer emotional support and encouragement to build pupils’ confidence and engagement.
Collaborate with staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies where necessary.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Experience working with children in a school, nursery, tutoring, or childcare setting (essential).
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
A calm, approachable, and professional manner.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children of all abilities.
An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to child welfare.
A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
