Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant – Stoke-on-Trent

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Part-time (between 08:10 and 15:30, days negotiable)
Contract: Temporary (minimum 1 term, with the possibility to extend for the academic year)
Salary: £89-£95 / per day


Zest Education is proud to be working in close partnership with a well-regarded and centrally located primary school in Stoke-on-Trent, to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 classroom starting in September 2025.

This school, rated ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted, is known for its welcoming environment, supportive leadership team, and commitment to delivering a rich and engaging curriculum. With a strong emphasis on creativity, inclusion, and personal development, pupils benefit from regular opportunities for learning both inside and outside the classroom. The Role

The successful candidate will play an essential role in the daily life of a KS2 classroom. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help deliver lessons, provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, and contribute to creating a positive, focused atmosphere for learning.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting classroom activities and lesson delivery

  • Helping to differentiate tasks to meet individual learning needs

  • Providing one-to-one support to pupils, including those with additional needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement

  • Assisting with the preparation of teaching resources and displays

  • Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants or those with relevant classroom-based qualifications (Level 2/3 preferred)

  • A caring and proactive approach to working with children

  • Confidence in supporting Key Stage 2 learners

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
