Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work at a well-established secondary school in Nottingham from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience and play a vital role in supporting students’ learning when teaching staff are absent.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise students in the absence of their usual teacher, delivering pre-set work

  • Ensure a calm and focused learning environment is maintained

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and uphold school expectations

  • Provide brief feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil behaviour and engagement

  • Support students with tasks and encourage independent learning

This role covers a variety of subjects across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7–11) and may involve working with different year groups each day.

Ideal Candidate:

✅ Confident in managing classroom behaviour and engaging with secondary-aged pupils
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Adaptable and able to think on your feet
✅ Experience working with young people (e.g. in education, coaching, youth work)
✅ A degree or relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
✅ Suitable for aspiring teachers, graduates, or experienced support staff
