Zest Education is currently recruiting a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work at a well-established secondary school in Nottingham from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience and play a vital role in supporting students’ learning when teaching staff are absent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise students in the absence of their usual teacher, delivering pre-set work
Ensure a calm and focused learning environment is maintained
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and uphold school expectations
Provide brief feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil behaviour and engagement
Support students with tasks and encourage independent learning
This role covers a variety of subjects across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7–11) and may involve working with different year groups each day.
✅ Confident in managing classroom behaviour and engaging with secondary-aged pupils
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Adaptable and able to think on your feet
✅ Experience working with young people (e.g. in education, coaching, youth work)
✅ A degree or relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
✅ Suitable for aspiring teachers, graduates, or experienced support staff
