Zest Education is currently recruiting a Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Nottingham from September 2025. This role is perfect for confident, organised individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, particularly those considering a future in teaching or education.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
Manage student behaviour and ensure a focused classroom environment
Support pupils with questions and maintain learning continuity
Supervise classes across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4
Provide brief feedback to teaching staff about class behaviour and engagement
You won’t be expected to plan lessons or mark work – the focus is on classroom supervision and behaviour management.
✅ Confident and adaptable, with strong communication skills
✅ Experience working with young people (e.g. in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring)
✅ Calm and professional approach to managing behaviour
✅ Degree or A-level qualifications desirable, but not essential
✅ Ideal for graduates, career changers, or aspiring teachers seeking school experience
