Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Derby for a dedicated and passionate Geography Teacher. This full-time role begins in September 2025 and offers the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Geography lessons to pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them explore the world around them through both physical and human geography.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering well-structured Geography lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of global issues, landscapes, and cultures
Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, and maintaining high standards of achievement
Participating in departmental planning, school events, and enrichment activities
Promoting geographical curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental awareness
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Geography or a related subject
✅ Strong knowledge of the secondary Geography curriculum (KS3–KS4)
✅ Excellent communication and classroom management skills
✅ A passion for Geography and the ability to inspire students
✅ Suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers alike
✅ Flexibility, commitment, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
