Zest Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Derby to recruit a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor for a full-time role starting in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are considering a future in education.
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff
Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring pupils stay on task
Maintaining a positive and focused learning environment
Supervising students across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4
Providing brief feedback to teachers on student behaviour and engagement
No lesson planning or marking is required — your primary focus is to maintain classroom continuity and behaviour.
✅ Confident, organised, and adaptable
✅ Experience working with young people (e.g. in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching)
✅ Strong communication and behaviour management skills
✅ A professional and proactive approach to supervising classes
✅ A-levels or degree preferred but not essential
✅ Ideal for graduates, career changers, or aspiring teachers looking for experience in schools

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
