Zest Education is proud to be supporting a number of schools in Nottingham in their search for an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their staff from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HLTA or an experienced TA looking to take the next step in their education career.
As an HLTA, your responsibilities will go beyond typical TA duties and may include:
Planning and delivering lessons to small groups or whole classes in the absence of a teacher
Supporting pupils across a range of abilities, including those with additional needs
Working alongside teachers to support curriculum delivery and pupil progress
Leading targeted interventions in English, Maths, or SEND provision
Supporting with classroom behaviour, assessment, and marking under teacher guidance
Playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the classroom or phase
✅ HLTA qualification or equivalent Level 4 teaching assistant training
✅ Proven experience in a school setting (KS1, KS2, or KS3/KS4 depending on school type)
✅ Confident leading lessons and managing groups independently
✅ Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
✅ A team player with excellent communication skills
✅ Passionate about helping children achieve academic and personal success

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
