Teaching Assistant – Littleover, Derby

Location: Littleover, Derby
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Until October Half Term (with potential for extension)

Zest Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Derby starting September 2025. This position will run through to the October half term, with a strong chance of extension depending on performance and school requirements.


About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting pupils and teaching staff across the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning

  • Supporting classroom management and behaviour

  • Assisting pupils with additional needs

  • Helping to plan and deliver engaging learning activities

  • Supporting the teacher with daily classroom duties

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in a nurturing school setting while positively impacting young learners.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) – preferred
✅ Previous experience in a primary school setting
✅ A caring, patient, and proactive approach
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✅ A good understanding of the primary curriculum
✅ The ability to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff
✅ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
✅ An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
