SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a warm and inclusive school setting in Leicester from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs, looking to make a meaningful impact every day.

 About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN), such as autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties

  • Help pupils access learning and overcome barriers in a calm, nurturing way

  • Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and specialists to meet each child’s individual needs

  • Adapt resources and activities to ensure inclusion and progress

  • Foster a safe, encouraging, and positive classroom environment

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Experience supporting children with SEN in educational or care settings
✅ Understanding of key SEN strategies and behaviour support techniques
✅ Patient, reliable, and committed to helping all pupils succeed
✅ Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, a teaching assistant certificate, or psychology-related studies are beneficial
✅ Able to follow guidance and work effectively as part of a team
✅ Enthusiastic and passionate about inclusive education

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
