Part-Time Primary Teaching Assistant – Derby
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Until the end of the Autumn Term (with the possibility of extension)
Location: Derby

Zest Education is proud to be working with an outstanding primary school in Derby that is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Teaching Assistant to join their team from October until the end of the Autumn term, with the potential for the role to continue into the new year.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and accessible lessons

  • Supporting individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs

  • Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour

  • Helping to prepare learning materials and classroom resources

  • Contributing to the overall school environment and ethos

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children’s education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Recent experience working in a primary school setting

  • A calm, positive, and proactive approach to supporting young learners

  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility, patience, and a genuine passion for education

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
