Teaching Assistant – EYFS – Tamworth
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Until October Half Term (with potential for extension)

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team from September 2025. This is a full-time role initially running until the October half term, with strong potential for extension.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant in the EYFS setting, you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and the children during this crucial stage of development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to children across all areas of learning

  • Assisting with delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities

  • Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development

  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Observing and recording pupils’ progress to inform future planning

  • Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is passionate about early years education and who brings energy, reliability, and a nurturing approach to the classroom. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Have recent experience working in a primary school setting

  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be confident in managing routines and supporting children’s learning

  • Show a genuine commitment to child development and safeguarding

  • Work well as part of a collaborative and supportive team

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
