Zest Education is working closely with a warm and welcoming primary school in Loughborough, who are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT to make a positive impact at an important stage in pupils’ learning journey.
Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum
Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)
Use assessment data to monitor and support pupil progress
Create a supportive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Work closely with the KS1 team, teaching assistants, and parents
Promote high standards of literacy, numeracy, and behaviour
✅ Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
✅ Strong knowledge of Key Stage 1 curriculum and expectations
✅ Experience in teaching Year 2 or KS1 (preferred)
✅ Confident in delivering phonics (preferably using a recognised scheme.
✅ Effective behaviour management and classroom organisation
✅ A team player who values collaboration and continuous improvement
✅ Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
