Job Description

Zest Education is working closely with a warm and welcoming primary school in Loughborough, who are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT to make a positive impact at an important stage in pupils’ learning journey.

 Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum

  • Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)

  • Use assessment data to monitor and support pupil progress

  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Work closely with the KS1 team, teaching assistants, and parents

  • Promote high standards of literacy, numeracy, and behaviour

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
✅ Strong knowledge of Key Stage 1 curriculum and expectations
✅ Experience in teaching Year 2 or KS1 (preferred)
✅ Confident in delivering phonics (preferably using a recognised scheme.
✅ Effective behaviour management and classroom organisation
✅ A team player who values collaboration and continuous improvement
✅ Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
