Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Coalville
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the school term
Salary: Competitive rate of pay

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Coalville, which is looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time position that will run until the end of the academic term, with the potential for extension and  further opportunities in local schools.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with small groups or individual pupils to provide tailored support

  • Assisting the class teacher in preparing learning materials and classroom activities

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs to help them achieve their learning goals

  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment

  • Contributing to assessments and progress monitoring where required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting

  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • A genuine interest in supporting young learners

  • A DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for a new one through Zest Education

Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
