Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Swadlincote

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children’s learning and development? Zest Education is currently recruiting for a Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Swadlincote. This full-time role will begin in October 2025 and continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to provide essential support to Year 3 pupils. Your focus will be on helping children progress both academically and socially, working with small groups and individual pupils where needed.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the delivery of creative and engaging lessons

  • Supporting children with key areas of learning, including reading, writing, and maths

  • Offering targeted support to pupils who require additional help

  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Helping with classroom organisation and administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Patient, caring, and committed to supporting children in their learning

  • Experienced working in a primary school environment, ideally with Key Stage 2

  • Able to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Reliable, proactive, and flexible in their approach

  • Ideally holding a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, though experienced applicants without formal qualifications will also be considered

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
