Job Description

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: September 2025
Term-Time Only
Contract: Temporary with potential for a long-term position
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience – £89-£95 / Per Day

 The Role:

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to support learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on your experience and preferences. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by working closely with class teachers, small groups, and individual children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher with daily routines and classroom activities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils of varying abilities

  • Creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Promoting pupils’ social and emotional development

  • Communicating effectively with staff, parents, and carers to support pupil progress


 What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting

  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning

  • A sound understanding of the primary curriculum and how children learn

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
