Teaching Assistant – Year 4 | Burntwood Primary School

Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Until the end of the Autumn term (possibility for extension)
Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire

We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the school’s Year 4 class from October 2025. This is a full-time role that will run through to the end of the Autumn term, with the potential for the position to be extended into the Spring term.

The Role:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and support progress.

  • Helping to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing across the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent – preferred).

  • Have recent and relevant experience working in a primary school setting.

  • Be a confident and proactive team player with strong communication skills.

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when working with children.

  • Be reliable, flexible, and fully committed to supporting the needs of the class.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
