Zest Education is excited to be working alongside a friendly and inclusive primary school in Derby, which is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team from September for the duration of the Autumn term, with the potential for this role to be extended further.
This welcoming and well-established school is situated in the heart of Derby and is known for its strong sense of community, inclusive ethos, and dedication to every child’s academic and personal growth. With a supportive senior leadership team and a strong culture of collaboration, the school is an ideal environment for a new teacher to begin or continue their teaching journey with confidence.

As an ECT, you will take on a full class teaching responsibility within the primary phase (specific year group to be confirmed based on school need and candidate strength). You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to meet the needs of all learners and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recently completed or nearing completion of teacher training
Has recent teaching experience in a primary school
Demonstrates a clear understanding of the primary curriculum
Is enthusiastic, organised, and committed to making a positive impact
Shows strong communication and classroom management skills
Is reflective, open to feedback, and keen to continue professional development
Effective planning and delivery of engaging lessons
Strong understanding of assessment and pupil progress
Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Confident behaviour management strategies
Strong communication with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
