EYFS Teaching Assistant – Burton
Start Date: Mid-September
Location: Burton 

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Burton, which is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from mid-September until the Christmas break, with the potential for the role to be extended into the new year.

The Role:

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils in the Nursery or Reception class. Your responsibilities will include assisting with planned activities, supporting individual learning needs, helping with phonics and early literacy/numeracy, and contributing to a safe and engaging classroom environment.

You will play a key role in supporting children’s development across all areas of the EYFS framework, both in structured sessions and through child-initiated play.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Recent experience working in a UK primary school

  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
