Zest Education are working closely with a welcoming and well-established primary school in the Burton area, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team starting September 2025. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, running until December 2025, with the potential to extend for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and pupils across a range of subjects and activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Supporting individual students and small groups, including those with additional learning needs
  • Encouraging pupil participation and engagement in learning activities
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Providing one-to-one support where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being among pupils

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with children. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • A caring and patient nature with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt in a busy classroom environment
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
