  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Hours: Flexible (full- or part-time options available)

  • Contract: Day-to-day / Temporary supply

  • Salary: Competitive daily rate (based on experience and qualifications) £89-£95 /Per Day

Zest Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply work across a range of welcoming primary schools in and around Penkridge. These flexible roles are ideal for experienced TAs or those newer to the role, offering a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, gain varied school experience, or maintain a better work-life balance while making a meaningful contribution to pupils’ learning.

Our partner schools are supportive, inclusive, and child-centred, with a strong focus on creating nurturing environments where every child can thrive. As a supply TA, you’ll become an important part of the school day—whether you’re supporting small groups, assisting with class activities, or providing one-to-one help to pupils who need extra support.

What to Expect from the Role:

Each day will bring something different, as you’ll be working across a range of classes and age groups depending on school needs. You may be asked to support in Key Stage 1 or 2, assisting with lesson delivery, behaviour management, or SEND support.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils in class to access learning and stay engaged

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom routines

  • Working one-to-one or in small groups with children who need extra help

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND or EAL

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour

While the role is day-to-day, many schools look for consistent cover, offering you the chance to build rapport with staff and pupils over time.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school setting

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and school environments

  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 TA) are desirable but not essential

Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or looking to gain more classroom experience, we welcome applications from all backgrounds. A passion for supporting young learners and a willingness to get involved is key.

What Zest Education Offers:

  • Flexible assignments that work around your availability and preferences

  • A dedicated consultant who listens and supports your career goals

  • Access to a wide network of primary schools across Penkridge

  • Weekly pay with competitive daily rates

  • The potential to transition into long-term or permanent TA roles
