Zest Education is working with a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Leicester that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the classroom and become part of a supportive teaching team.
Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Track and assess pupil progress, ensuring that all children are supported and challenged
Prepare pupils for the end of KS1 assessments (SATs) with confidence
Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and parents to meet individual learning needs
Engage in wider school activities and contribute to a collaborative school culture
✅ Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE)
✅ Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 2
✅ Familiarity with phonics (e.g., Little Wandle, Read Write Inc) and SATs preparation
✅ Passionate about helping pupils progress both academically and personally
✅ Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills
✅ Suitable for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
