Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Until December 2025 (end of autumn term)
Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch

Zest Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, currently seeking a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025 through to the end of the autumn term.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the primary phase, working closely with classroom teachers to help deliver engaging and effective lessons. You may be required to work with small groups or individual pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences

  • Provide targeted support to pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups

  • Help maintain an inclusive, safe, and positive classroom environment

  • Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays

  • Monitor and encourage pupil progress and engagement

  • Promote positive behaviour and foster student wellbeing

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred)

  • Recent experience working with primary-aged children

  • Good understanding of primary curriculum and child development

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
