Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Sinfin, Derby

📍 Location: Sinfin, Derby
📅 Start Date: September 2025 – Until End of October Half Term (with potential for extension)
💼 Position Type: Full-time / Temporary (with potential for longer-term opportunity)

Zest Education is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Sinfin, Derby, to recruit a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This role is initially until the end of the October half term, with the possibility of being extended based on school needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils across a range of abilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with classwork and interventions.

  • Helping to prepare learning materials and classroom resources.

  • Encouraging pupil participation and engagement in lessons.

  • Supporting pupils with additional or special educational needs.

  • Promoting a safe and positive learning environment for all.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping young learners thrive.

  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
