Zest Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in the EYFS at a welcoming primary school in Leicester from September 2025. This rewarding role is perfect for someone passionate about helping young children with special educational needs thrive in their early education.
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in the EYFS with SEN
Assist the child in accessing play-based and structured learning activities
Implement strategies from the child’s EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan)
Support communication, social interaction, and personal development
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to track progress
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where the child feels valued
✅ Experience working with children in EYFS (Nursery or Reception)
✅ Understanding of SEN support strategies (autism, speech & language, ADHD etc.)
✅ A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ Enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training (can be arranged)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
