Zest Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Derby from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Help pupils access learning by adapting activities and resources
Implement strategies outlined in pupils’ EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans)
Support children with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support
Create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment
✅ Experience working with children or young people with SEN (autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language etc.)
✅ A caring, patient, and resilient approach
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ Ability to adapt to different age groups and learning needs
✅ Enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training (can be arranged)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
