When a teacher can’t be in class, the lesson doesn’t stop — and that’s where you come in. Zest Education is looking for confident, adaptable, and engaging Cover Supervisors to work in a variety of secondary schools across Dudley.
This role is perfect for those who enjoy variety, challenge, and the chance to make a real difference every single day. You’ll supervise pre-prepared lessons, manage the classroom environment, and ensure students stay focused and on track. You won’t be expected to teach new content, but you will be the key to keeping the learning momentum going.
What you’ll be doing:
Supervising classes in the absence of the teacher
Delivering set work and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere
Managing behaviour in line with school policies
Supporting students who need a little extra encouragement
Reporting back to the teaching team on progress and any issues
We’re looking for people who:
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can stay calm, organised, and adaptable under pressure
Have previous experience working with young people (in schools, coaching, youth work, etc.)
Are eager to develop their skills in education — whether you’re a graduate exploring teaching, a TA ready for more responsibility, or from another career entirely
Every day will be different — one morning you could be covering English, by the afternoon you might be in Science or PE.
