Zest Education is working with a supportive secondary school in Lichfield to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development of young people.
Role Responsibilities:
Support the pastoral team in promoting pupils’ wellbeing, attendance, and engagement
Provide guidance and emotional support to students on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist with behaviour management, helping to create a positive learning environment
Work alongside staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil progress and welfare
Monitor attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding concerns, reporting to the Pastoral Manager or Senior Leadership Team
Encourage pupils to achieve both academically and personally by addressing barriers to learning
✅ Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, or a pastoral role
✅ Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
✅ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
✅ Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
