Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Cannock

Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young learners? Zest Education are looking for an inspiring teaching assistant to work with Year 2 in an outstanding primary school in Cannock, starting in October 2025 running until the end of the school term, with the possibility for extension.

About the Role:

This role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support pupils in Year 2, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis. You’ll play a key part in helping children reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate lessons

  • Supporting children with their learning, including phonics, reading, writing, and maths

  • Providing additional help to pupils who may need extra support

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, nurturing classroom environment

  • Supporting classroom routines and helping with general administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children

  • Experienced working in a primary school setting (especially Key Stage 1)

  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a difference

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are highly desirable, but not essential for the right candidate with experience.
