Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Cannock
Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young learners? Zest Education are looking for an inspiring teaching assistant to work with Year 2 in an outstanding primary school in Cannock, starting in October 2025 running until the end of the school term, with the possibility for extension.
This role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support pupils in Year 2, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis. You’ll play a key part in helping children reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate lessons
Supporting children with their learning, including phonics, reading, writing, and maths
Providing additional help to pupils who may need extra support
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, nurturing classroom environment
Supporting classroom routines and helping with general administrative tasks
The ideal candidate will be:
A patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children
Experienced working in a primary school setting (especially Key Stage 1)
Able to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a difference
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are highly desirable, but not essential for the right candidate with experience.
