Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Burton and Surrounding Areas)

Zest Education is currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work on a temporary basis in primary schools in and around Burton-on-Trent.

The Role of a Teaching Assistant:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the teacher and the pupils in the classroom. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Working with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assisting with classroom preparation and displays

  • Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment

  • Helping pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum

  • Providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Recent experience working in a primary school setting

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and development

  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
