Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Burton
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Until December 2025 (end of autumn term)
Location: Burton

Zest Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a warm and inclusive primary school located in Burton, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025 through to the end of the autumn term.

About the Role:

This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils across the primary phase, working closely with teachers to help deliver engaging lessons and provide additional learning support where needed. You may be supporting the class as a whole or working more closely with individual pupils or small groups, including those with additional educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities

  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups

  • Help manage behaviour and promote a focused learning environment

  • Support with the preparation of classroom materials and displays

  • Contribute to tracking pupil progress and development

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)

  • Recent experience working with primary-aged children

  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to adapt to pupils’ needs

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach

  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Zest Education

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
