SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025. This role is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them thrive in their education.
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met
Adapt learning activities and resources to suit the child’s ability and learning style
Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and implementing learning plans
Encourage the child’s social, emotional, and academic development
Manage behaviour positively and use de-escalation strategies when needed
Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and outside professionals
✅ Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language)
✅ Patient, caring, and resilient with a child-centred approach
✅ Able to adapt quickly and use initiative in supporting learning
✅ Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and parents
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
