Job Description

Are you looking to gain more experience in the teaching world, do you have a strong passion for PE and mentoring children?  If so, this could be the job for you!

A role at a school in Walsall are looking for a full-time member of staff to start in November 2022, for one term as a cover supervisor. A role of a cover Supervisor varies but is a great role for those who are looking to work with children or young adults.

This is large secondary school that can offer brilliant outdoor and indoor facilities, which caters for lots of different sports and pupil abilities. The team are looking to maintain their high standards, so teamwork is a key skill if applying for this role, in turn because of this there will be lots of support along the way.

The role will require you to build and maintain relationships with the pupils and help them set goals, that they hope to achieve. Confidence, enthusiasm, and supportiveness will be key to excelling in this opportunity.

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Be consistent in maintaining high standards
  • Demonstrate the highest regard for health and safety and safeguarding procedures
  • Be a strong team player who can also work independently
  • Be confident in managing behaviour
  • Be consistent in working with a broad range of pupils
  • Creative and innovative teaching methods, the ability to motivate students

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover Supervisor will be required to work in this secondary school delivering high quality pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old pupils.

Work will be pre-planned, by the classroom teacher within school, which you will be expected to deliver to students. You will also need to manage behaviour in line with the schools policy and provide feedback to the relevant senior leaders.
