Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Tamworth
Start Date: October 2025

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school located in Tamworth. The school is currently looking for a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team from October until the end of the Autumn term, with the possibility of extension.

The Role:

You will be supporting a Year 6 class, providing both 1:1 and small group assistance, as well as in-class support under the guidance of the class teacher. As the class prepares for secondary transition and end-of-key-stage assessments, your role will be vital in helping pupils stay engaged, supported, and on track. You will play a key part in classroom routines, pupil progress, and maintaining a safe, stimulating atmosphere.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Recent and relevant experience working in a primary school

  • Confident in supporting literacy and numeracy interventions

  • Able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and independently when required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, adaptable, and proactive in managing classroom behaviour

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
