Zest Education is currently working in partnership with a warm and welcoming nursery setting based in Burton. This well-established setting is known for its inclusive, child-led approach and its commitment to supporting every child’s early development in a safe and engaging environment. The team is experienced, passionate, and focused on helping children thrive through fun, hands-on learning experiences.
We are looking to appoint a Nursery Practitioner to start as soon as possible, working through until the end of December 2025, with the potential for the position to be extended into the new year. This is a full-time role, working across the week during term time.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting children aged 2–4 in their development and learning in line with the EYFS framework
Creating a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn through play
Developing strong, positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents
Observing and recording children’s progress and contributing to tailored activity planning
Working collaboratively with the team to ensure high standards of care and education
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about early years education, with a warm, enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or equivalent) – preferred
Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting
Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
A current, enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
Key Skills:

A caring, patient, and adaptable attitude
Creative thinking and a proactive approach to learning activities
Good organisational abilities and attention to detail
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Zest Education are an APSCo audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
