Primary Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ education, particularly in providing SEN support, and to work alongside an experienced and supportive teaching team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support children with additional needs, ensuring they feel included and supported.
  • Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning.

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils thrive both academically and socially. The school prides itself on creating a positive and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. This role will give you the chance to develop your skills, gain valuable experience in the education sector, and become an integral part of a warm, community-focused school.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children who have additional needs.
  • A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and wellbeing.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education or a related field.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
