SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Long-Term)

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm

Contract type: Long-term (to ensure continuity for children)

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nuneaton. About the role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children across all year groups who requires additional support. Your role will be to provide consistent guidance, encouragement and tailored support throughout the school day to ensure they can thrive both academically and socially. Continuity is key, so we are looking for someone who can commit to this role long-term, helping to make a real difference in the child’s development.

Responsibilities

– Providing individualised 1:1 support to a child with additional needs
– Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials where needed
– Supporting the child’s social and emotional development
– Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement learning strategies
– Building positive, trusting relationships to encourage confidence and independence

This role is about more than classroom support – it’s about providing consistency, encouragement, and care to help a child feel safe, valued, and confident. By joining through Zest Education, you’ll play a key role in their progress while working alongside a supportive school team.

Requirements:

• Has experience working with children who require additional support (Preferred).
• Is patient, understanding and able to adapt to the child’s unique learning style.
• Has excellent communication skills
• Is reliable and eager to work in this specific sector of education.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
