Job Description

Year 6 Class Teacher – Full Time 
Location: Solihull
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time | Until Christmas 2025
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in the Solihull area is seeking a committed and experienced Year 6 teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time cover role, running until the end of the autumn term (Christmas 2025), with the possibility of extension.

The school has a strong community ethos and is known for its supportive leadership and high expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a Year 6 class through a key phase of their primary education, with a focus on progress, SATs preparation, and transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  • Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-year assessments and SATs

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

  • Track and monitor pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Recent experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

  • Strong understanding of SATs requirements and curriculum coverage

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching
