SEN Teaching Assistant (temp)

Job Description

Zest Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in Nuneaton. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child with additional needs, supporting them to access learning and flourish in the classroom. Role and responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist with learning tasks, adapting materials and approaches to meet the child’s individual needs.
  • Encourage and support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Collaborate with external specialists and implement intervention strategies

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Experience working with children is desirable
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively with SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Experience working in a care setting or with vulnerable adults is desirable

 

Location: Nuneaton

Contract: Supply/temp

Days: 3 per week

Start date: ASAP

Years: Primary (Y1-Y6)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
