Primary Teacher (SEND)

Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a passionate and qualified SEN Primary Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Coventry. This long-term role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners with additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally. Contract: Long-term / Full time

Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Days: Monday – Friday

Start: 1st week in November

Location: Coventry

Type: SEN primary /Across all years

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible lessons across the primary curriculum (KS1 and KS2)
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the requirements of children with special educational needs.
  • Assess and monitor progress, tailoring support to ensure individual success
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external professionals
  • Promote a love of learning and help pupils build confidence and independence

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum in a primary setting
  • At least 90 days of classroom teaching experience (including placements)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A creative and compassionate approach to teaching, with a genuine interest in SEN
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff
  • Additional qualifications in SEN desirable

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
