Zest Education is currently working closely with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Swadlincote, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team as soon as possible, until the end of December 2025 with the possibility for extension into the new year.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on your experience and the school’s needs. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Working with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons

  • Helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment

  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of classroom activities

  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to the teacher

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs where necessary

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
✅ Experience in a primary school setting
✅ A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for working with children
✅ A commitment to promoting the well-being and progress of all pupils
✅ Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
